WALTER DE BROUWER

Computational Linguist

Walter De Brouwer has established several AI and deep tech companies, four of which have undergone public offerings. His latest company (doc.ai) was acquired by Sharecare where he serves as the Chief Scientific Officer.  WDB holds a PhD in computational semiotics and has been a professor at Stanford University since 2018, where he is the course director of MED-205.  His research interests are in Multimodal Transformers, Large Music Models and Autonomous Agents. He is a General Partner at Claritas Capital (Nashville, since January 2022), a $1bn PE  fund where he runs the Media and Entertainment (Claritas M&E) sector.  He is the author of 53 patents and a member of the Recording Academy (Grammy’s).
